There’s a Flying Car. No sh**! We here at blogosaurusstampede were raving, just yesterday, about the Tesla Electric Car, as if that were proof of a possible future full of cool things like (for instance) flying cars and jet-packs and what do we see in the news feed today? A story about a flying car. well, just Narn my Vorlon and call me a secret Babylon 5 geek, why dontcha. A Flying car… Jesus wept over a beautiful machine…

Terrafugia Transition Flying Car

Take a gander at the Terrafugia Transition, the Flying car. This is so cool, I have to thank Jesus for a moment… Ok, I’m good.

The inventors have described the Terrafugia craft as a drive-able aircraft.. bullsh**! It’s a flying car! let us not be afraid to dream big here, folks. It’s sleek, it moves through the air at over 100mph, with a range of almost 500 miles. it’s a flying car. All you need is a standard garage in which to store the foldable-winged craft… that an a driveway one-third of a mile long and about $200,000+ to drop on the initial cost (sales tax not included) registration, insurance, parachute and FAA Membership costs, driveway expansion overhead… etc. Better make that a cool $500,000 so you can cover all that and have some pocket money for tolls and snacks. Hey, does it have an option to transition it for space flight? Just asking…

The FAA has even acknowledged the 3/4 of a ton flying car as a “light sport” aircraft, which requires a mere 20 hours of flight-time to qualify to drive… er, pilot… whatever. All I want to know is this: when will my editors buy me one of these so I can properly research this story? I don’t ask for my own flying car dreams, but for the very Spirit of Journalism… Ok, I’m lying

Randall Cunningham’s Son Dies

In tragic news, former College and NFL Football star Randall Cunningham‘s son has died in what appears to be an accidental drowning. The young child was found by a woman at the Cunngham residence floating and unresponsive, in Randall Cunningham’s hot tub, located in the backyard of his Las Vegas home. The woman attempted CPR, until paramedics arrived to rush the boy to St.Rose Dominican hospital. Doctors did everything possible, but the boy, aged 2 1/2, was declared dead.

Randall Cunningham, a former star at UNNV as well as player for the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings, has since become a pastor and often performs the Rite of Baptism in the hot tub at his home. It’s not known whether such a service was being performed at the time, or whether the child somehow found access to the hot tub. Detectives investigating for any possible abuse and/or neglect have determined the death to be accidental.

Talk about cold comfort to a parent.

Everybody knows not to let small toddlers run around unsupervised, and to have pools, hot tubes, ponds, even bathrooms etc., guarded or fenced-off. It takes a second of inattention for the worst nightmare of a parent to be realized. Kids can drown in but a few inches of water in a bathtub or bucket. I also, from experience, know that toddlers are creatures of curiosity and quest and
